The Brazen Boar

The Brazen Boar is a branding project for a roaming medieval-themed food hall that travels to Renaissance fairs across the country. The concept blends rich fantasy storytelling with bold, rustic design, creating a feast-worthy identity rooted in folklore, fire, and revelry. The goal was to craft a brand world that feels immersive, adventurous, and timeless, while still being approachable and fun for modern audiences.

A lot of my inspiration for this project came from ancient medieval illustrations and illuminated manuscripts; the vibrant scarlet reds that you see in those against the parchment color is visually very striking, and I think that sort of color combination also ended up giving off this feeling of fire and passion that I wanted to see in The Brazen Boar identity. I have always been a fan of the old woodcut illustration look too, as well as brands that pair illustration with unique wordmarks, and so it was a lot of fun to bring that to life through drawings I made in Procreate.
